The Model Train Museum contains a 1:87 scale layout of a section of the Mariazellerbahn, occupying approximately seventy square metres of exhibition space. The model railway recreates a section of the railway line between Bach’s hardwood mill and Erlauf Klause in loving detail. The track has reconstructions of the railway stations, bridges, viaducts and tunnels and a staggering twenty thousand trees, made by the members of the museum association. The eight scale model locomotives can be operated by visitors. To supplement the models there are old photographs showing the development of the railway.
