Langenlois, in the centre of the south of the Kamptal, is Austria’s biggest wine producing centre. The city is surrounded by vineyards and contains some of the most famous cellars in the land. The predominant grape variety is the fashionable Grüne Veltliner, grown here and in parts of the Czech Republic but nowhere else. The Weinstraße Kamptal takes you through the best wine producing areas in the Kamptal where you can try literally hundreds of different wines including the excellent sparkling wines.
