The famed novelist Franz Kafka had a history of illness which included depression, migraines, insomnia, anxiety and chronic tuberculosis. As a last resort, as his condition worsened, he attended the Hoffman clinic in Kierling, near Klosterneuburg but died on June 3rd, 1924. In the former sanatorium three rooms have been opened to provide a memorial to the unfortunate writer. The exhibits include letters, photographs, maps and books dating from the last few months before his demise.
