The church in Kirchstetten, the patron saint of which is St. Vitus, was established in approximately 1100 and is located in what was the original centre of the village. The building is largely Gothic, having originally only had a nave and a chapel at the southern end. A northern transept was added in the 15th century. The main altar of the church is Gothic while the three side altars are Baroque. Notably, the interior of the church has characteristic Gothic vaulting at the crossing and a beautiful main window. The Baroque dome, which sits on the wooden tower, is made from copper and is perhaps the most unusual feature of the church.
