The Nikolauskirche can be traced back to at least 1289 when it is first mentioned and, as such, is the oldest church in Langenlois. The church is mainly Gothic in character but has a Romanesque vestry with Baroque details and a beautiful clock tower. In the choir are the remains of some Gothic glass paintings. The surrounding graveyard, which contains an interesting polychrome sandstone figure, is enclosed by a wall which has a gate and swing bridge over the Loisbach.
