Schloss Orth is one of the largest Renaissance buildings in Lower Austria. Today it houses the Donauauen national park centre and is the meeting centre of the Orth-Donau municipality. Its big attraction for visitors is the state of the art "DonAUräume" exhibition which explores all the facets of the wetlands national park. There are sections dealing with the parks habitats, a unique underwater observation station and an observation tower with views over the Danube and mountains. The castle is the starting place for guided tours of park and, as you would expect, has a shop and bistro.
