Linz’s Botanical Gardens on the Gugl are spread over an area of 43000 m² and contain no less than 8000 types of exotic plants in the five greenhouses. The exhibited plants are grouped in complete landscapes, so that visitors can imagine they are in the middle of the plant’s natural habitat. The gardens house the finest and most comprehensive collection of cacti in Europe and the Alpinum contains a display of alpine flowers. There are frequent special exhibitions and events throughout the year.
