The Biologiezentrum in Linz Dornach, with its collection of over six million items, is the largest natural history centre in Upper Austria and is second only to the natural history museum in Vienna. The Centre houses the scientific collections of the Upper Austrian national museums which have their origins in the first half of the 19th century. The botanical, zoological and geo-scientific collections moved to Linz Dornach in 1993. In addition to displays from the collections, visitors will find exhibitions relating to the Centre’s role in collecting, documenting and conserving animals and plants.
