The beer museum in Laa is Austria’s oldest dedicated to the amber nectar. The collection of brewing exhibits was originally housed in the local history museum until the Second World War. In 1971 the local brewery, Hubertus Bräu, provided the impetus for the creation of a dedicated brewing museum which opened officially in 1972. The museum is divided into four areas dealing with the history of brewing, brewing technology, advertising, packaging and bottling and, finally, a gallery of images and art associated with beer.
