This immense Baroque palace was built in 1728 and now houses the Provincial Assembly and Provincial Government (Landesregierung). It is a three storey building with an extravagant and ornately decorated façade built by master builder Georg Anton Gumpp. The statues of ancient Gods which reside in the niches plus the lavish plasterwork on the ceilings are well worth a look. The conference hall is truly magnificent; adorned with ornamental murals and plasterwork by Cosmas Damian Asam in 1734.
