The Waldbauernmuseum can be found in a former mill in Gutenstein. The museum, based on the collection of Wilhelm Ast, is devoted to the preservation of rural culture and objects of the Upper Piestingtal. The exhibits show how important the working of wood was in the rural environment over the centuries and, in particular, in the area surrounding Gutenstein. The building houses a multimedia cinema which shows a series of important documentaries about forest industry.
