Schloss Walpersdorf in Inzersdorf-Getzersdorf is one of the few Renaissance castles in Lower Austria. It is also one of the most beautiful castles in the Traisental. The three storey building was constructed in 1571 by Helmhardt Jörger who had the castle constructed around an inner courtyard with an imposing gatehouse with two strong towers. The north and south wings were added later, in 1669, when George Ludwig Sintzendorf used the castle as a factory for the production of silk stockings. The castle boasts a 16th century rectangular tournament yard which has four towers with Venetian inspired fire places. The area was used as a dye works in the 17th century.
