On the ancient Windgasse is the Handels und Kaufmannsmuseum, a 19th century shop and trading centre which has been open to visitors since 1988. Halsach has been a trading centre for over a thousand years and these premises were in use until the 1960’s. The wonderful business has a well preserved buyer’s office and contains exhibits illustrating the history of the Mühlviertel region’s dealings with the rest of the world in the 19th and 20th centuries
