Construction of Baden’s Kurpark, by the gardener Jean Baptist Barbé, began in the late 18th century on the site of the former Theresienbad and Theresiengarten. The park was extended over the years taking its current shape in the first half of the 20th century. The famous bandstand, which is used for Sunday concerts by a small orchestra, was added in 1894 as was the park café. There are also lots of monuments adorning the park such as the Beethoventempel, the Grillparzer monument, the Emperor Josef Monument, the Lanner und Strauß monument and the flower clock.
