The Lebendes Textilmuseum shows the rise of the local textile industry from its earliest manifestation as the initiative of Count Ferdinand von Mallenthein, who became the lord of Groß-Siegharts in 1681, up to the 19th century. The Count’s ambitious plans were eventually thwarted by political pressure but his establishment enjoyed a measure of success in the 19th century. The museum is housed in a form ribbon making factory and contains a comprehensive collection of objects associated with textile manufacture such as machinery and power plant. There is an interesting reconstruction of a typical Groß-Siegharts weavers house of around 1720.
