Schloss Stuppach was the home of the Counts of Wurmbrand-Stuppach and probably dates from about 1130. The three storey building belongs to many different building periods. The northern part from the castle entrance to the eighteen metre high corner tower forms the Mediaeval core. The western part includes a Renaissance chapel and the southern section is Baroque. Other features such as the terraces and the staircase in the inner court were added later. The building had a chequered history during the 20th century; at one time it was the local headquarters of the SA and later it housed a bakery. Around 1990 renovation work was begun and now the castle is used for concerts and meetings.
