The Ochzethaus, a unique piece of vernacular architecture and one of the oldest farmhouses in the region, houses the Römer-Erlebnismuseum which was created to show how the Romans lived and influenced the life and culture of Upper Austria. Beside the Roman archaeological finds, the museum, which is the regional centre of the University of Vienna’s Institute for Classical Archaeology, shows the methods used to research Roman history in the region. There are constantly changing exhibitions and cultural events complementing the permanent collections.
