The Pfarrkirche zum Hl.Laurentius is a late Gothic church, built in 1142 at Abtsdorf just outside Attersee, belonged to the Benedictine monastery at Mondsee until its dissolution in 1791. Abtsdorf, in fact, means abbot’s village. The interior of the church was remodelled in the Baroque style and has a high altar, side altars and pulpit by the Mondsee sculptor Meinrad Guggenbichler, which were constructed between 1699 to 1703. The tower, which is covered with larch wood shingles, originates from the year 1838.
