The Pfarrkirche St. Andreas, at the foot of the Kirchenberg, is jewel of Gothic architecture. It lies on the site of a Roman military church, as testified by the discovery of its foundations in the church grounds. The church is first mentioned in the 12th century when it was in the hands of the Benedictine abbey of Göttweig. Since 1303 it has been an independent parish church. The remarkable high altar was created by the Linz sculptor Ludwig Linzinger in 1897, as part of the neo-Gothic renovation.
