The extraordinary Strandbad, in the Weilburgpark, is a 42,000 square metre, landscaped outdoor pool complex with the largest sand beach in Austria. The effect is that visitors feel as if they have been transported to a Mediterranean location, there is even an island with palm trees. The complex caters for the whole family and there is a special children’s pool with water mushroom and water chute. For more conservative visitors, there are two sulphur pools fed from a hot string. There is plenty for the sports enthusiast as well in the shape of beach volley ball, table tennis, badminton, trampoline, gymnastics and sand castle building.
