The third section of the Ybbstalbahn runs from Kienberg/Gaming to Lunz and has been in existence for over a hundred years. From 1898 to 1988 the line was run by the Austrian Federal Railways but now it has been taken over by the local railway company. The track is famous for its two wild-west style steel viaducts and, should you catch a ride on one of the restored steam powered trains, it is like taking a nostalgic journey back in time to the days of the Empire.
