The Klosterkirche, consecrated in 1466, is part of a former Franciscan monastery and was built in the late 15th century on the site of an older church. After a period of expansion, the monastery was dissolved in 1786 and the church treasures were sold. A little later the church became a cotton factory but was destroyed by fire in 1808. The Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, popularly known as the Redemptorists, purchased the ruin in 1833 and rebuilt and extended the building, adding a tower, in the neo-Gothic style. The interior contains many fine examples of late 19th century works of art executed by the order’s lay brothers.
