The Niederfeld Marienkapelle, which is the oldest building in Berndorf, is a square stone Baroque chapel, built between 1764 and 1765 to the plans of the Viennese master builder Faderl. The building, situated in Lower Berndorf, replaces an earlier 17th century square stone column housing a picture of the holy Maria von Pötsch in a niche. The chapel, which accommodates eight worshippers, also contains a beautiful votive painting donated by Thaddaeus Wimmer in 1765.
