The Kapelle Maria Taferl am Eichberg stands on the Gotschakogel at the site of a former 16th century chapel. Legend has it that a shepherd found a picture of the Mother of God and fastened it to a tree. On three occasions the picture was brought down into Gloggnitz from the Gotschakogel but miraculously found its way back. As a result, a chapel was constructed to house it. The inauguration of a small brick chapel took place in 1857 and the remainder of the wooden structure was completed in 1878. The path leading to the chapel is marked by the Stations of the Cross.
