The museum in the “Fürstenstöckl” Ebenau was opened in 1967. The museum’s collections and exhibits show different facets of the history of Ebenau from the earliest times. There is a particular emphasis on the industrial past as Ebenau was once an important centre for the production of steel and brass and also home to a rifle factory, which was opened during the 30 Years War. Because of the availability of water power the town also had a number of hammer mills and their history is also documented in the museum. Other exhibitions tell the story of the construction of the parish church and there is an old schoolroom preserved in a nearby building.
