Kamegg Castle, which is locally known as Burg Kamegg, was first mentioned in 1150 as property of the Lords of Chambecha in whose possession it continued until 1312. From 1350 it is known to have been owned by the Lords of Kamegg-Kaja. In 1620 the ownership of Kamegg Castle was added to that of the nearby Rosenburg Castle but then the castle fell to ruin, although the castle chapel, dedicated to St. Aegydius was in use until 1786. The castle is surrounded by a 5 meter deep, dry moat and all that remains consists of remnants
