The Kaiser Franz Josef Museum is dedicated to the memory of the former Austrian Emperor who died on 21st September 1916, in the middle of the First World War. The museum is designed to remind visitors of Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, but on a small scale. Visitors are greeted by a likeness of the Emperor dressed in full uniform, sitting on a chair. The rooms of the museum contains more than two thousand objects from the time of the Emperor including books, busts, medals, porcelain, clocks, decorative objects, magazines, picture postcards, whistles, genealogical maps, walking sticks and tobacco boxes.
