The Kräuterbrunnen is a unique fountain which was constructed in the space of four weeks in 1997 in Gars’ Hauptplatz. It was the idea of Professor Willi Dungl who created it in cooperation with water sculptor Professor Hans Muhr and the geologist Dr. Franz Stürmer from a diverse collection of different local rock types. The fountain is surrounded by beds of plants and herbs which provide a decorative back drop to the forty five ton construction and also impart a rich aromatic ambience.
