The Guglzipf is a mountain hut built in 1908 on the Berndorfer Hausberg at 473 metres above sea level. The hut can be reached by foot from Berndorf village centre or by car along the forest route. At the hut there is a 34 metre high observation tower, constructed in 1991, from the control room of which there are panoramic views of the lower alps (Schneeberg, Hohe Wand, Hohe Mandling, Unterberg, Hocheck) and towards the mountains of the Viennese forest (Schöpfl, Peilstein, Eisernes Tor). On clear days it is even possible to see the distant Carpathian Mountains. For entertainment there is a rustic skittle alley, playing fields and a childrens’ playground.
