The Heimatmuseum, extended and modernised in 1992, was opened in 1981 by the local historical society in the former Goiserermühle. The museum contains a number of collections; prehistoric and early historical , local handicrafts, shoemaking and nail manufacture, objects from Goisern’s past, works by the painter and photographer Beinrichter Oberhauser , popular culture and art and 18th century Protestant culture. There is an important collection connected with the controversial 19th century farmer-philosopher Konrad Deubler , farmer, baker, restauraunteur, barkeeper and a former mayor of Goisern.
