The Mostviertler Bauernmuseum is the largest privately owned folk museums in the whole of Austria. The museum contains a staggering 17,000 exhibits relating to the work and culture of local farmers and illstrates the background to over twenty regional crafts. The father of the museum, Anton Distelberger, gathered the collection to preserve the culture of the Mostviertel and to make the newer generations aware of their backgrounds. For children there is a collection of toys of past generations.
