This important building, the Eisenstädter Haus, was given its name after a former owner. The famous architect August Siccard von Siccardsburg and the well known poet Moritz Gottlieb Saphir, who died here in the year 1858, lived in this house. Siccard von Siccardsburg established a memorial to his friend in Baden’s Kurpark entitled "Moritz-Ruhe“. Saphir’s favourite wooden building, where he entertained many illustrious guests, stood in the grounds. Parts of the guest book can be seen in the "Rollett-Museum“. There is a small memorial to the wooden building, removed during the Second World War, to remind us of the poet’s favourite place.
