The Stadtturm on the main square in Enns is the city’s defining landmark. The Italianate 60 metre high tower, with 157 steps from the ground to the gallery, was built between 1564 and 1568 and shows both late Gothic and Renaissance architectural influences. The building was originally built as a watch and bell tower and today it is mainly used as an observation tower with amazing views over Enns and the surrounding countryside. The unusual tower clock has the hour and minute hands transposed.
