The original Chorbrunnen stood on a bend in the market brook. It consisted of a circular basin with a central column on top of which was a sandstone sculpture of St. John of Nepomuk. In 1861 the original fountain was demolished and the figure of St. John was moved to Nonndorf. The present well was then built in its present form with an iron statue of the same saint. It is a wonderfully tranquil location in which to spend a peaceful few minutes of contemplation.
