Hallein’s Keltenmuseum is devoted to the history of the Celts and, in particular Celtic influences in Central Europe. The museum’s exhibits describe the coming of the Celts to the region, Celtic civilisation in Central Europe, the final defeat of the Celts and Celtic archaeology. In one of the rooms there is a display of remarkably well preserved items from the Celtic grave which was discovered in the nearby salt mine, in another a presentation focussing on the Eislfeld Celtic necropolis excavated at the end of the last century.
