The Kartäusermuseum documents the life of St. Bruno, the history and life of the Carthusians, the white order, and the history of the Carthusian monastery in Aggsbach. The museum contains a monastic cell, or cubiculum, and workshop with original furniture and fittings which was a gift of the Carthusian order in Sèlignac, France. The museum is housed in the former monastery stables and the austere surroundings reflect the Spartan life of the monks who valued poverty and simplicity.
