The ingeniously conceived Sinfoniewanderweg is a scenic walk, which begins at the composer Anton Bruckner’s place of birth, from Ansfelder to St. Florian Monastery, where the composer’s is interred. At ten points on the route there are information boards, each one dedicated to one of Bruckner’s symphonies, hence the name of the walk. The boards describe the historical background and musical features of each of the compositions. Before setting off, visitors can experience an audiovisual presentation about the symphonies. For those who would prefer not to have to walk back to Ansfelden, it is possible to purchase special taxi cards which ensure a speedy, effortless return from St. Florian.
