The Gothic abbey church is to be found in the midst of the ruins of the former Carthusian Monastery not far from the village of Aggsbach-Dorf. The building is one of the few surviving remains of a thriving community which came to an end in 1782. Nearby there are the remains of the monastery cloister and abbot’s lodgings. Behind the church, the way leads to the Kreuzweg, or Way of the Cross, up the Kalvarienberg, where visitors can experience the silence and peace of nature for meditation and prayer.
