The distinctive interior makes this museum well worth a visit; Austria’s leading designers given freedom to create a unique space. Exhibits from the middle-ages to the present day include furniture, glass, china, silver, and textiles, with the ground floor covering Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo and Jugendstil trends. The first floor is devoted to the Wiener Werkstätte (Vienna Workshops) and displays jewellery, metalwork, fashion and furniture from designers such as Koko Moser and Otto Wagner. The gilded design for the frieze of the Stoclet Palais in Brussels, by Gustav Klimt, is also on display along with contemporary applied art.
