The POSTHOF, which was originally a farm in the Linz docklands, was opened in 1984 as venue for contemporary culture in Austria. The programme of events offered covers a broad cultural spectrum and includes music, dance, theatre, art and literature. The music featured draws from many different genres; rock, pop, jazz, reggae, techno and hip-hop. During the season, from September to June, there are, on average, 250 events, attended by approximately 80,000 people, which are grouped according to various themes. The venue has three concert halls and a restaurant and bar.
