This curious, possibly unique, museum is dedicated to society’s bęte noire, the taxman. The revenue men have left a legacy of typewriters, calculating machines, office signs, files, law books, seals and stamps all of which were a part of a custom’s officer’s working life in past times. There is a display of smuggled items to excite the imagination. The museum is housed in two locations, the second of which is at the Tax and Revenue Office, Uhrfahr, Kaarstrasse 21, A-4040 Linz. Access is by appointment only; well that is no surprise then!
