At 727m above sea level this is reputedly the highest zoo in the world. All the animals originate from the Alpine regions so it is a wonderful place to visit to discover the wildlife you could see locally in the wild. As well as the diminutive golden cockerel, mammoth bison and the bearded vulture, visitors can see otters, bears and wolves as well as view weird and wonderful fish in the cold-water aquarium. Due to the work of the zoo, nurturing endangered animals and returning them to the wild, some very rare species can be seen.
